Official Mascot 'Mayur' Unveiled
In a spectacular ceremony filled with cultural pride, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta officially unveiled 'Mayur', the official mascot for the upcoming 22nd Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship 2026.
Deeply rooted in Indian heritage, the mascot is inspired by India’s national bird, the peacock. 'Mayur' has been meticulously designed to encapsulate the foundational values of the games—symbolizing unity, high energy, sportsmanship, absolute positivity, and the traditional Indian warmth of hospitality (Atithi Devo Bhava).
The vibrant mascot will serve as the face of the tournament, welcoming international delegates, athletes, and fans from all corners of the Commonwealth. During the unveiling event, the Chief Minister highlighted that 'Mayur' reflects Delhi's youthful dynamism and its welcoming spirit as a gracious host.
The rollout of the mascot will be accompanied by widespread grassroots campaigns across schools and sports hubs in the national capital, inspiring the next generation of paddlers while building public excitement and engagement for the grand finals slated for August 2.
